coat/urban outfitters    boots/river island    dress/topshop    necklace/afflecks

This was one of those 'panic! throw it all together' sort of outfits. When faced with one of those situations, I normally gravitate to my black coat which admittedly drowns me despite the fact I got a small size (darn shortness!). I have also learnt to loathe this two piece/dress in disguise because for a short period of time I swear everyone else was wearing the exact same thing. Oh the perils of high street shopping.

Things are pretty low when the designer gets peer pressured to by her own models to pose in her own garments. A great opportunity to swipe the images and plaster them on thy blog though! Do you ever get those times where you wear one thing and seem to get a bunch of compliments on it? This dress seems to be one of those things. It made me so happy that people liked something I made without the knowledge of knowing that I actually made it.

These shoes are also my go to. They're black, have a reasonable heel length (essential for this shorty) and are easy to slip on and off, a.k.a perfection. Bonus: they were cheap and my sister bought them me for Christmas!

And why is it that whenever I get asked to pull a 'neutral' face I still end up smiling?!

It seems like forever since my last proper fashion post and a lot had happened since. One thing that has developed is my attempted aversion to black which I have, somewhat, accomplished with my trusted denim jacket and silver flatforms. Often when I throw an outfit together without thinking, I usually end up in head to toe in the dreaded shade *sighhh* I am sporting my newest bag which my mother kindly calls my "boy boy bag" (thanks mum). It is a Nike backpack. Although it is admittedly not the most 'fashionable' (and presumably intended to be used by hikers rather than a little girls), it is immensely practical thus perfect in my eyes! Since I've become an art student I tend to carry a lot of things around i.e. a sketchbook, pencils, my camera etc etc. This was true today since I went gallery-ing once more - it was so much fun!

p.s. thanks to my 'photographer' Georgie! ^^

p.p.s. I cut my hair! ... just in case you didn't already notice.

shirt/primark    jumper/topshop    skirt/ebay(topshop)    bag/thifted(topshop)    boots/ebay

This post has been lurking in my drafts for a while so finally it gets to see the light. I tried look somewhat presentable whilst maintaining a fashionable edge during a visit to a university last year  - I think the slight colour blocking worked really well to achieve the brief! I kept the colours clean and the whole assemble simple. Plus, blue and white are two of my favourite colours to wear as well as two of my absolute favourite colours!

fall for retro | outfit

gingham peplum top + skirt duo and underskirt/handmade    denim jacket/rockit    socks/ebay    creepers/primark

Yes, I actually made one whole finished garment! The first one ever since year 9 textiles class. The whole thing looks very retro/60's diner to me. I really hope I will be able to get back onto my sewing machine again when my work load lessens because sewing really gets rather addictive but at the same time it is very time consuming. Well, as they say, practice makes perfect! Oh! I almost forgot but Happy Lunar New Year~

cardigan/romwe    scarf/windermere (lake district)    bag/thifted (originally topshop)    platforms/asos

Aren't the orange tone just delicious? Delicious probably isn't the right word for it but nevertheless the golden hues is quite lovely. The weather in England, surprisingly, has not consisted of thunderous sprouts of torrential snow (will there be a blog post where I do not mention the weather? ... Possibly not!) hence the lack of eskimo-like coats. Instead I donned in a printed cardigan complete with frowny faces, yin yangs and crosses. To prevent looking to dark/sacrificial-esque I wore a red velvet dress and matching platforms to creative a more festive vibe!

Enjoy your Christmas holidays and I'll see you in the New Year!
(2014 already?!)

denim dayz || outfit

denim jacket/rokit    dress/primark    shawl/topshop    flatforms/korea

Hola! It is time again where I can wear my denim jacket full-time once more! In the words of my friend "you dress like a big flower or just wear denim". I think I love this jacket mainly because it reminds me of a jacket Keith Murray wears.

I was in the process of editing photos for an outfit post, however my laptop – being its old tattered self – decided to become extremely slow. It probably doesn’t help that I still have the ‘shopper’s buzz’ and am currently throwing it into data-overload-mode by playing my recent album purchases (WHY iTunes WHY?!).

My life seems to be consumed by games, music and shopping. Not ideal for the start of the school season I must say but it cannot seem to be helped! I wake up and automatically reach for my DS. When I walk to school I listen to my ipod and I just recently purchased a brand new dress and shoes. Sigh.

I am very pleased I have somewhat of a budding album collection though! It is a rarity I ever get an album unless I am absolutely in love with it, after all, they are ridiculously priced! Plus, I have been lusting after these albums for a long time now. If you are interested, here is my favourite song of the moment from my equally favourite album of the moment!

top/topshop    skirt/topshop    flatforms/river island    bag/primark    socks/korea

I got called a hippy whilst wearing this ensemble which doesn't sound too bad at all oddly. Embrace the bohemian! I decided that this is my 'space hippy' look since my matching silver flatforms and nails give it that lunar look! The sleeves on this top is brilliant and perfect for those who are arm conscious (bingo wings anyone?) yet still want to keep well ventilated in warm climates. I would definitely recommend you try something different and give the boho sleeves a go. The chiffon-like material feels devine on your skin - just try resist flapping your arms! I definitely felt like a bit of a pigeon...

Intially, the concept of dressing in obnoxiously florescent clothing was the image I had planned for the Summer of 2013. However, it seems I have gotten in fact more monochromatic than I previously was in winter. Nevertheless, it's nice to have that go to look and monochrome never goes out of style!

blue water koi || outfit

shirt/primark    necklace/topshop    skirt/ebay(topshop)    flatforms/riverisland    floral crown/DIY    socks/tutuanna

Hola! Can you believe that this is actually my mums shirt? I stole it from her wardrobe, hehe. It definitely fills the void in my wardrobe since it mainly consists of skirts and dresses, plus I adore the intricate koi print. My floral headcrown was made by yours truly~ I am thinking of selling a few on ebay but when/if I ever get around to it... who knows. However, exams are finally over and I plan on indulging into one too many ice creams!

Do you ever have a 'default' outfit you seem to wear all the time for a good month or so? I'm pretty sure this it mine. Only thing is, is that this a-line skirt isn't so a-line on me, it's more like a body con - damn you hips! They seem to get in the way of everything, especially when it comes to trying on those peskily narrow jeans. Maybe those ice creams aren't a good idea after all... *sigh*
